Description

University Goce Delcev – Stip is highly committed to the research in the areas of Engineering and BioMedical sciences covering fields like m-Health, ICT-based healthcare applications and services, Future media networks, Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), Enhanced Living Environments (ELE), Human-Machine Interaction. It has considerable experience with research programs and projects funded by national and international bodies (FP, PHARE, TEMPUS, COST, IPA, Macedonian Ministry of Culture, Macedonian Ministry of Education and Science, etc.). The results of their work and research are published in highly ranked SCI journals and protected with patents, and embodied in various commercial applications.

Main tasks to be carried on within the project

GDU will be supporting UNCAP solution implementation and integration, with a particular focus on delivery of the recommendation algorithms and fall detection service. They will also support user-centered endpoint interface design from usability and applicability perspectives in the context of use in elderly care and healthcare sectors. Also, they will support UNCAP solution deployment, integration and trials execution, and will hold the role of leader of the pilot in Nursing Home Terzieva in Skopje, an institution for social protection which offers unique and personalized services for the elderly staying there for a longer period of time, in accordance with the EU standards from technological and social point of view.

How the profile matches with the tasks assigned and previous experience in relevant projects

University Goce Delcev will contribute to the project with their expertise and experience in the areas of ehealth algorithm development, integration and testing following human-centred and participatory design concepts. University Goce Delcev will specifically focus on collaborative algorithms refinement their integration with the developed systems by the University of Ljubljana. It will also contribute with already developed application for fall monitoring during everyday activities of elderly and emergency alerting, and its testing and integration with the developed systems by the University of Ljubljana.
